This artwork by Alexander Sitnikov achieved an unexpectedly high price at Sothebys in New York in April 2008. In the Russian Art auction, the work Dream O F An Unrealized Still Life sold for USD 40,000.00 (€ 25,693.73) - well above the upper estimate of USD 20,000.00. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Alexander Sitnikov; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot Temptation sold at auction in November 2007 with the realized price of GBP 30,500.00 (€ 42,707.89).
