Auction result misses estimated price range
In April 2013 a collector was able to acquire the work Gordon Setter In A Landscape by Alexander Pope for USD 17,500.00 (€ 13,289.79). This price was achieved in the auction American Paintings, Drawings & Sculpture at Sothebys in New York and was even below the estimate range of USD 25,000.00 – 35,000.00 set by the auction house. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Alexander Pope achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Trophies Of The Hunt in May 2016 with an auction result of USD 370,000.00 (€ 332,285.59).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Im April 2013 konnte ein Sammler die Arbeit Gordon Setter In A Landscape von Alexander Pope für USD 17.500,00 (€ 13.289,79) erwerben. Dieser Preis wurde in der Auktion American Paintings, Drawings & Sculpture bei Sothebys in New York erzielt und lag noch unterhalb der von dem Auktionshaus angesetzten Schätzpreisspanne von USD 25.000,00 – 35.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Alexander Pope erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Trophies Of The Hunt im Mai 2016 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 370.000,00 (€ 332.285,59).
