Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Alexander Pope could be acquired at Sothebys in New York in September 2010 for an unexpectedly low price. In the American Paintings, Drawings & Sculpture auction, the work After The Hunt changed hands for USD 22,500.00 (€ 16,542.90) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of USD 25,000.00 – 35,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Alexander Pope achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Trophies Of The Hunt in May 2016 with an auction result of USD 370,000.00 (€ 332,285.59).
