Auction result well in line with expectations
In December 2009 Sothebys in New York held the auction American Paintings, Drawings & Sculpture, which included the work A Hunter'S Still Life by Alexander Pope. The price achieved of USD 62,500.00 (€ 43,608.71) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 50,000.00 – 75,000.00. Admittedly, works by Alexander Pope have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Trophies Of The Hunt in May 2016 with an auction result of USD 370,000.00 (€ 332,285.59).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Dezember 2009 führte Sothebys in New York die Auktion American Paintings, Drawings & Sculpture durch, in der auch die Arbeit A Hunter'S Still Life von Alexander Pope zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 62.500,00 (€ 43.608,71) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 50.000,00 – 75.000,00 angegeben worden. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Alexander Pope auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Trophies Of The Hunt im Mai 2016 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 370.000,00 (€ 332.285,59).
