This artwork by Alexander Volkov achieved an unexpectedly high price at Sothebys in London in June 2017. In the Russian Pictures auction, the work Caravan sold for GBP 100,000.00 (€ 113,881.34) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 50,000.00. Admittedly, works by Alexander Volkov have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Moonlit mausoleums in November 2012 with an auction result of GBP 433,250.00 (€ 533,720.04).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 100 % übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Alexander Volkov erzielte im Juni 2017 bei Sothebys in London einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Russian Pictures wurde die Arbeit Caravan für GBP 100.000,00 (€ 113.881,34) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von GBP 50.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Alexander Volkov auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Moonlit mausoleums im November 2012 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 433.250,00 (€ 533.720,04).
