Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Abstract composition by Alexander MacKenzie was sold in the Modern British & Irish Art auction at Christies in London in March 2017. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 4,000.00 – 6,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 4,375.00 (€ 5,127.07) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Admittedly, works by Alexander MacKenzie have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Painting (Gwithian) Aug 57- in June 2017 with an auction result of GBP 40,000.00 (€ 45,552.54).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Abstract composition von Alexander MacKenzie wurde im März 2017 in der Auktion Modern British & Irish Art bei Christies in London versteigert. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 4.000,00 – 6.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 4.375,00 (€ 5.127,07) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Alexander MacKenzie auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Painting (Gwithian) Aug 57- im Juni 2017 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 40.000,00 (€ 45.552,54).
