Artwork auctioned at seven times the upper estimate price
When the work Molotov Cocktail by Alexander Kosolapov was auctioned at Sothebys in New York in October 2018, the result exceeded expectations many times over. The upper estimate was set at a - in retrospect quite modest - USD 3,000.00 but the actual price achieved was more than seven times as high at USD 22,500.00 (€ 19,855.28). Admittedly, works by Alexander Kosolapov have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work McLenin's in November 2021 with an auction result of GBP 73,080.00 (€ 85,802.80).
Kunstwerk zum Siebenfachen des oberen Schätzpreises versteigert
Als die Arbeit Molotov Cocktail von Alexander Kosolapov im Oktober 2018 bei Sothebys in New York versteigert wurde, übertraf das Ergebnis die Erwartungen um ein Vielfaches. Der obere Schätzpreis war mit – rückwirkend betrachtet recht bescheidenen – USD 3.000,00 angesetzt, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis hingegen war mit USD 22.500,00 (€ 19.855,28) mehr als siebenmal so hoch. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Alexander Kosolapov auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit McLenin's im November 2021 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 73.080,00 (€ 85.802,80).
