Artwork auctioned at ten times the upper estimate price
When the work The Fleatels are in Town! by Albert Willem was auctioned at Bonhams in December last year, the result exceeded expectations many times over. The upper estimate was set at a - in retrospect quite modest - GBP 15,000.00 but the actual price achieved was more than ten times as high at GBP 151,500.00 (€ 171,028.74). Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Albert Willem; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot All In All Not Bad For His First Attempt sold at auction in June this year with the realized price of GBP 228,600.00 (€ 266,051.04).
Kunstwerk zum Zehnfachen des oberen Schätzpreises versteigert
Als die Arbeit The Fleatels are in Town! von Albert Willem im Dezember letzten Jahres bei Bonhams versteigert wurde, übertraf das Ergebnis die Erwartungen um ein Vielfaches. Der obere Schätzpreis war mit – rückwirkend betrachtet recht bescheidenen – GBP 15.000,00 angesetzt, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis hingegen war mit GBP 151.500,00 (€ 171.028,74) mehr als zehnmal so hoch. Trotz des guten Ergebnisses ist dies nicht der höchste Zuschlag für ein Kunstwerk von Albert Willem; den erzielte unter den von uns beobachteten Auktionen die Arbeit All In All Not Bad For His First Attempt im Juni diesen Jahres mit dem Hammerpreis von GBP 228.600,00 (€ 266.051,04).
