Admittedly, works by Albert Ernest Markes have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work A wrecked three-master on the sands with the local inhabitants salvaging what they can in May 2003 with an auction result of GBP 4,465.00 (€ 6,220.87).
