Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Composition With Ovoid 1964 by Alan Reynolds was sold in the Made in Britain auction at Sothebys in London in September 2019. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 15,000.00 – 25,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 17,500.00 (€ 19,746.68) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Admittedly, works by Alan Reynolds have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Autumn Legend in November 2016 with an auction result of GBP 137,500.00 (€ 162,236.48).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Composition With Ovoid 1964 von Alan Reynolds wurde im September 2019 in der Auktion Made in Britain bei Sothebys in London versteigert. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 15.000,00 – 25.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 17.500,00 (€ 19.746,68) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Alan Reynolds auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Autumn Legend im November 2016 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 137.500,00 (€ 162.236,48).
