Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Red And Blue by Aida Tomescu was auctioned at Christies in Melbourne in November 2004, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of AUD 800.00 – 1,200.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for AUD 717.00 (€ 417.63). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Aida Tomescu achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Zbor, 2003 in August this year with an auction result of AUD 35,670.00 (€ 21,285.50).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Red And Blue von Aida Tomescu im November 2004 bei Christies in Melbourne versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von AUD 800,00 – 1.200,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für AUD 717,00 (€ 417,63) den Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Aida Tomescu erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Zbor, 2003 im August diesen Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von AUD 35.670,00 (€ 21.285,50).
