In May 2006 Christies in Hong Kong held the auction Modern and Contemporary Southeast Asian Art, which included the work Mantra by Ahmad Zakii Anwar. The »bidding war« ended at HKD 108,000.00 (€ 10,847.97), 66% above the upper estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Ahmad Zakii Anwar - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Man, which sold at auction in April 2007 for SGD 72,000.00 (€ 34,682.28).

Im Mai 2006 führte Christies in Hong Kong die Auktion Modern and Contemporary Southeast Asian Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Mantra von Ahmad Zakii Anwar zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von HKD 108.000,00 (€ 10.847,97) und damit 66% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Für andere Arbeiten von Ahmad Zakii Anwar mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Man beobachtet, die im April 2007 für SGD 72.000,00 (€ 34.682,28) versteigert wurde.
