The work Mantra 2 by Ahmad Zakii Anwar was worth HKD 336,000.00 (€ 31,994.05) to a buyer in May 2007. This price was achieved in the auction Modern and Contemporary Southeast Asian Art at Christies in Hong Kong and exceeded the previously set upper estimate of HKD 80,000.00 many times over. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Ahmad Zakii Anwar; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot Man sold at auction in April 2007 with the realized price of SGD 72,000.00 (€ 34,682.28).
