This artwork by Ahmad Zakii Anwar achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in Hong Kong in May 2006. In the Modern and Contemporary Southeast Asian Art auction, the work Legong #7 sold for HKD 144,000.00 (€ 14,463.96) - well above the upper estimate of HKD 80,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Ahmad Zakii Anwar - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Man, which sold at auction in April 2007 for SGD 72,000.00 (€ 34,682.28).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 80 % übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Ahmad Zakii Anwar erzielte im Mai 2006 bei Christies in Hong Kong einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Modern and Contemporary Southeast Asian Art wurde die Arbeit Legong #7 für HKD 144.000,00 (€ 14.463,96) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von HKD 80.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Ahmad Zakii Anwar mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Man beobachtet, die im April 2007 für SGD 72.000,00 (€ 34.682,28) versteigert wurde.
