In May this year Christies in Hong Kong held the auction 20th Century Art Day Sale, which included this untitled work by Ahmad Sadali. The »bidding war« ended at HKD 630,000.00 (€ 75,512.48), 58% above the upper estimate. Admittedly, works by Ahmad Sadali have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Composition with Orange Background in April last year with an auction result of HKD 5,292,000.00 (€ 639,841.32).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 58 % übertroffen
Im Mai diesen Jahres führte Christies in Hong Kong die Auktion 20th Century Art Day Sale durch, in der auch diese Arbeit ohne Titel von Ahmad Sadali zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von HKD 630.000,00 (€ 75.512,48) und damit 58% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Ahmad Sadali auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Composition with Orange Background im April letzten Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 5.292.000,00 (€ 639.841,32).
