In May 2006 Christies in Hong Kong held the auction Modern and Contemporary Southeast Asian Art, which included the work Structured Field With Golden Remnants by Ahmad Sadali. The »bidding war« ended at HKD 216,000.00 (€ 21,695.94), 35% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Ahmad Sadali achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Composition with Orange Background in April last year with an auction result of HKD 5,292,000.00 (€ 639,841.32).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 35 % übertroffen
Im Mai 2006 führte Christies in Hong Kong die Auktion Modern and Contemporary Southeast Asian Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Structured Field With Golden Remnants von Ahmad Sadali zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von HKD 216.000,00 (€ 21.695,94) und damit 35% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Ahmad Sadali erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Composition with Orange Background im April letzten Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 5.292.000,00 (€ 639.841,32).
