Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
The work A three-master in choppy waters, a coast beyond by Aernout Smit was sold in the Old Master Pictures and Drawings auction at Christies in Amsterdam in November 2007. Here, the upper estimate of EUR 18,000.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for EUR 19,450.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Aernout Smit - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work A Dutch three-master firing a salute, together with numerous other ships near a quay to the left, a windmill in the distance and outskirts of towns on the far horizon, which sold at auction in October 2021 for EUR 62,500.00.
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Die Arbeit A three-master in choppy waters, a coast beyond von Aernout Smit wurde im November 2007 in der Auktion Old Master Pictures and Drawings bei Christies in Amsterdam versteigert. Dabei wurde der obere Schätzpreis von EUR 18.000,00 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für EUR 19.450,00 einen neuen Besitzer. Für andere Arbeiten von Aernout Smit mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit A Dutch three-master firing a salute, together with numerous other ships near a quay to the left, a windmill in the distance and outskirts of towns on the far horizon beobachtet, die im Oktober 2021 für EUR 62.500,00 versteigert wurde.
