The work The Story of the Prodigal Son (Holl. 189-192) by Adriaen Collaert was sold in the Old Master Prints auction at Christies in London in July 2011. It achieved a price of GBP 1,500.00 (€ 1,721.47), exceeding the upper end of the estimate range by 50%. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Adriaen Collaert - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Piscium Vivae Icones – Eine Folge von Fischen und anderen Meerestieren (25 Bll. zuzügl. dem Titelblatt), which sold at auction in November last year for EUR 6,731.00.
Oberer Schätzpreis um 50 % übertroffen
Die Arbeit The Story of the Prodigal Son (Holl. 189-192) von Adriaen Collaert wurde im Juli 2011 in der Auktion Old Master Prints bei Christies in London versteigert. Sie erzielte dabei einen Preis von GBP 1.500,00 (€ 1.721,47) und übertraf damit das obere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne um 50%. Für andere Arbeiten von Adriaen Collaert mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Piscium Vivae Icones – Eine Folge von Fischen und anderen Meerestieren (25 Bll. zuzügl. dem Titelblatt) beobachtet, die im November letzten Jahres für EUR 6.731,00 versteigert wurde.
