Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Mood Indigo by Adolph Gottlieb was sold in the Post-War & Contemporary Art auction at Bonhams in May this year. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 80,000.00 – 120,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 82,275.00 (€ 77,224.52) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Adolph Gottlieb achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Bonac in November 2018 with an auction result of USD 4,812,500.00 (€ 4,250,198.71).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Mood Indigo von Adolph Gottlieb wurde im Mai diesen Jahres in der Auktion Post-War & Contemporary Art bei Bonhams versteigert. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 80.000,00 – 120.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 82.275,00 (€ 77.224,52) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Adolph Gottlieb erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Bonac im November 2018 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 4.812.500,00 (€ 4.250.198,71).
