Auction result well in line with expectations
The work View Of A Mediterranean Harbour ('Tripoli') by Adam Willaerts was sold in the Old Master Drawings auction at Sothebys in New York in January 2012. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 8,000.00 – 12,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 8,125.00 (€ 6,224.62) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Adam Willaerts achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Embarkation of the Elector Palatine in the 'Prince Royal at Dover, 25 April 1613 in November 2007 with an auction result of EUR 156,250.00.

Die Arbeit View Of A Mediterranean Harbour ('Tripoli') von Adam Willaerts wurde im Januar 2012 in der Auktion Old Master Drawings bei Sothebys in New York versteigert. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 8.000,00 – 12.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 8.125,00 (€ 6.224,62) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Adam Willaerts erzielen.
