Auction result well in line with expectations
In December 2014 Sothebys in London held the auction Old Master & British Paintings Day Sale, which included the work Coastal Scene With A Man-Of-War Dropping Anchor Off A Fortified Headland And Men Dismantling A Boat In The Foreground by Adam Willaerts. It changed hands for a price of GBP 17,500.00 (€ 22,528.30) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of GBP 12,000.00 – 18,000.00. Admittedly, works by Adam Willaerts have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work The Embarkation of the Elector Palatine in the 'Prince Royal at Dover, 25 April 1613 in November 2007 with an auction result of EUR 156,250.00.
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Dezember 2014 führte Sothebys in London die Auktion Old Master & British Paintings Day Sale durch, in der auch die Arbeit Coastal Scene With A Man-Of-War Dropping Anchor Off A Fortified Headland And Men Dismantling A Boat In The Foreground von Adam Willaerts zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wechselte sie für einen Preis von GBP 17.500,00 (€ 22.528,30) den Besitzer und erzielte damit ein Ergebnis im oberen Bereich der Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 12.000,00 – 18.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Adam Willaerts auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit The Embarkation of the Elector Palatine in the 'Prince Royal at Dover, 25 April 1613 im November 2007 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von EUR 156.250,00.
