Auction result well in line with expectations
The work A Fortified Coastal Town With Fishermen Unloading Their Catch And Larger Vessels Offshore by Adam Willaerts was auctioned at Sothebys in London in July 2016. The price achieved of GBP 47,500.00 (€ 56,440.28) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 40,000.00 – 60,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Adam Willaerts - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work The Embarkation of the Elector Palatine in the 'Prince Royal at Dover, 25 April 1613, which sold at auction in November 2007 for EUR 156,250.00.

Die Arbeit A Fortified Coastal Town With Fishermen Unloading Their Catch And Larger Vessels Offshore von Adam Willaerts kam im Juli 2016 bei Sothebys in London zur Auktion. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 47.500,00 (€ 56.440,28) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 40.000,00 – 60.000,00 angegeben worden. Für andere Arbeiten von Adam Willaerts mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit The Embarkation of the Elector Palatine in the 'Prince Royal at Dover, 25 April 1613 beobachtet, die im November 2007 für EUR 156.250,00 versteigert wurde.
