In April 2005 Christies in Melbourne held the auction AUSTRALIAN, INTERNATIONAL & CONTEMPORARY PAINTINGS, which included the work The Yarra by Louis Buvelot. The »bidding war« ended at AUD 3,585.00 (€ 2,173.92), 43% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Louis Buvelot achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Swiss Near Bacchusmarsh [Sic. Sunset On The Werribee|AID130772] in November 2007 with an auction result of AUD 86,400.00 (€ 52,047.06).

Im April 2005 führte Christies in Melbourne die Auktion AUSTRALIAN, INTERNATIONAL & CONTEMPORARY PAINTINGS durch, in der auch die Arbeit The Yarra von Louis Buvelot zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von AUD 3.585,00 (€ 2.173,92) und damit 43% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Louis Buvelot erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Swiss Near Bacchusmarsh [Sic. Sunset On The Werribee|AID130772] im November 2007 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von AUD 86.400,00 (€ 52.047,06).
