Auction result well in line with expectations
In September 2007 Christies in London held the auction Exploration and Travel, which included the work Tubbutt Homestead in the Bombala district, in the foothills of the Snowy Mountains by Louis Buvelot. The price achieved of GBP 26,900.00 (€ 38,572.62) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 20,000.00 – 30,000.00. Other works by Louis Buvelot have already achieved higher auction prices, for example, in November 2007 the work Swiss Near Bacchusmarsh [Sic. Sunset On The Werribee|AID130772] was auctioned for AUD 86,400.00 (€ 52,047.06).
