Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work A Fortified Mediterranean Port With An Obelisk And A Galley Moored Nearby by Abraham Storck was auctioned at Sothebys in London in July 2018, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of GBP 25,000.00 – 35,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for GBP 23,750.00 (€ 26,628.97). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Abraham Storck achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Capricci of Mediterranean ports: the first with the monument of the Four Moors of Leghorn; the second with a monument of Abundance in July 2000 with an auction result of GBP 443,750.00 (€ 717,537.91).
Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Capricci of Mediterranean ports: the first with the monument of the Four Moors of Leghorn; the second with a monument of Abundance im Juli 2000 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 443.750,00 (€ 717.537,91).
