This artwork by Abraham Storck achieved an unexpectedly high price at Bonhams in London in July this year. In the Old Master Paintings auction, the work An Italianate port with a triumphal arch near a colonnaded building, figures in a gondola in the foreground sold for GBP 38,400.00 (€ 44,801.16) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 20,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Abraham Storck achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Capricci of Mediterranean ports: the first with the monument of the Four Moors of Leghorn; the second with a monument of Abundance in July 2000 with an auction result of GBP 443,750.00 (€ 717,537.91).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 92 % übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Abraham Storck erzielte im Juli diesen Jahres bei Bonhams in London einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Old Master Paintings wurde die Arbeit An Italianate port with a triumphal arch near a colonnaded building, figures in a gondola in the foreground für GBP 38.400,00 (€ 44.801,16) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von GBP 20.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Abraham Storck erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Capricci of Mediterranean ports: the first with the monument of the Four Moors of Leghorn; the second with a monument of Abundance im Juli 2000 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 443.750,00 (€ 717.537,91).
