Auction result well in line with expectations
In June 2012 Sothebys in New York held the auction Old Master Paintings, which included the work Heraclitus by Abraham Janssens. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 50,000.00 – 70,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 53,125.00 (€ 41,936.38) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Abraham Janssens achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Saint Jerome in January 2017 with an auction result of USD 492,500.00 (€ 456,272.00).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Juni 2012 führte Sothebys in New York die Auktion Old Master Paintings durch, in der auch die Arbeit Heraclitus von Abraham Janssens zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 50.000,00 – 70.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 53.125,00 (€ 41.936,38) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Abraham Janssens erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Saint Jerome im Januar 2017 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 492.500,00 (€ 456.272,00).
