Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Constancy by Abraham Janssens was sold in the Master Paintings auction at Sothebys in New York in May 2021. The price achieved of USD 163,800.00 (€ 134,328.36) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 150,000.00 – 200,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Abraham Janssens - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Saint Jerome, which sold at auction in January 2017 for USD 492,500.00 (€ 456,272.00).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Constancy von Abraham Janssens wurde im Mai 2021 in der Auktion Master Paintings bei Sothebys in New York versteigert. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 163.800,00 (€ 134.328,36) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 150.000,00 – 200.000,00 angegeben worden. Für andere Arbeiten von Abraham Janssens mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Saint Jerome beobachtet, die im Januar 2017 für USD 492.500,00 (€ 456.272,00) versteigert wurde.
