Auction result well in line with expectations
The work View Near Totnes, Devon by Abraham Hulk Jnr. was sold in the British & Continental Pictures including Sporting and Marine Paintings auction at Sothebys in Olympia in July 2007. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 1,500.00 – 2,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 1,620.00 (€ 2,406.07) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Abraham Hulk Jnr. - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work View of Albury Heath, Surrey, which sold at auction in September 2000 for GBP 3,055.00 (€ 5,111.95).
