Auction result misses estimated price range
In November 2000 a collector was able to acquire the work Mujer con objeto comestible by Abigail Varela for USD 18,800.00 (€ 21,624.11). This price was achieved in the auction Latin American Sale at Christies in New York and was even below the estimate range of USD 20,000.00 – 30,000.00 set by the auction house. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Abigail Varela - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Mujer Sentada En Sofa, which sold at auction in May 2019 for USD 75,000.00 (€ 67,270.61).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Im November 2000 konnte ein Sammler die Arbeit Mujer con objeto comestible von Abigail Varela für USD 18.800,00 (€ 21.624,11) erwerben. Dieser Preis wurde in der Auktion Latin American Sale bei Christies in New York erzielt und lag noch unterhalb der von dem Auktionshaus angesetzten Schätzpreisspanne von USD 20.000,00 – 30.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Abigail Varela mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Mujer Sentada En Sofa beobachtet, die im Mai 2019 für USD 75.000,00 (€ 67.270,61) versteigert wurde.
