Artwork auctioned at three times the upper estimate price
The work Untitled (from the 'Waw' Series) by Abdul Qader Al Rais was worth USD 133,000.00 (€ 91,927.01) to a buyer in October 2007. This price was achieved in the auction International Modern and Contemporary Art at Christies in Dubai and exceeded the previously set upper estimate of USD 40,000.00 many times over. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Abdul Qader Al Rais - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Bishra (Announcement), which sold at auction in April 2008 for USD 385,000.00 (€ 247,302.16).

Die Arbeit Untitled (from the 'Waw' Series) von Abdul Qader Al Rais war einem Käufer im Oktober 2007 USD 133.000,00 (€ 91.927,01) wert. Dieser Preise wurde in der Auktion International Modern and Contemporary Art bei Christies in Dubai erzielt und übertraf den zuvor angesetzten oberen Schätzpreis von USD 40.000,00 um ein Vielfaches. Für andere Arbeiten von Abdul Qader Al Rais mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Bishra (Announcement) beobachtet, die im April 2008 für USD 385.000,00 (€ 247.302,16) versteigert wurde.
