This artwork by Abdul Qader Al Rais achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in Dubai in October 2016. In the Modern & Contemporary Art auction, the work Zaman: A View from the First Ahmed Seddiqi & Sons Shop (a work in progress) sold for USD 199,500.00 (€ 181,992.34) - well above the upper estimate of USD 100,000.00. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Abdul Qader Al Rais; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot Bishra (Announcement) sold at auction in April 2008 with the realized price of USD 385,000.00 (€ 247,302.16).

Dieses Kunstwerk von Abdul Qader Al Rais erzielte im Oktober 2016 bei Christies in Dubai einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Modern & Contemporary Art wurde die Arbeit Zaman: A View from the First Ahmed Seddiqi & Sons Shop (a work in progress) für USD 199.500,00 (€ 181.992,34) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von USD 100.000,00. Trotz des guten Ergebnisses ist dies nicht der höchste Zuschlag für ein Kunstwerk von Abdul Qader Al Rais; den erzielte unter den von uns beobachteten Auktionen die Arbeit Bishra (Announcement) im April 2008 mit dem Hammerpreis von USD 385.000,00 (€ 247.302,16).
