Auction result well in line with expectations
This work without title by A. Ramachandran was sold in the Indian and Southeast Asian art including 20th Century auction at Christies in New York in October 2001. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 3,000.00 – 5,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 3,055.00 (€ 3,397.09) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by A. Ramachandran achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Untitled (Crucifixion); Untitled (after Crucifixion of Mathias Grünewald) in March 2012 with an auction result of USD 86,500.00 (€ 64,871.76).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Diese Arbeit ohne Titel von A. Ramachandran wurde im Oktober 2001 in der Auktion Indian and Southeast Asian art including 20th Century bei Christies in New York versteigert. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 3.000,00 – 5.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 3.055,00 (€ 3.397,09) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von A. Ramachandran erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Untitled (Crucifixion); Untitled (after Crucifixion of Mathias Grünewald) im März 2012 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 86.500,00 (€ 64.871,76).
