In September 2020 Christies in New York held the auction A Lasting Engagement: The Jane and Kito de Boer Collection, which included the work Girls with Aparajita Flowers by A. Ramachandran. The »bidding war« ended at USD 11,875.00 (€ 10,133.98), 70% above the upper estimate. Admittedly, works by A. Ramachandran have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Untitled (Crucifixion); Untitled (after Crucifixion of Mathias Grünewald) in March 2012 with an auction result of USD 86,500.00 (€ 64,871.76).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 70 % übertroffen
Im September 2020 führte Christies in New York die Auktion A Lasting Engagement: The Jane and Kito de Boer Collection durch, in der auch die Arbeit Girls with Aparajita Flowers von A. Ramachandran zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von USD 11.875,00 (€ 10.133,98) und damit 70% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von A. Ramachandran auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Untitled (Crucifixion); Untitled (after Crucifixion of Mathias Grünewald) im März 2012 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 86.500,00 (€ 64.871,76).
