In June 2013 Sothebys in London held the auction Modern and Contemporary South Asian Art, which included the work Face From Rajasthan - 17 by A. Ramachandran. The result of GBP 15,000.00 (€ 17,507.69) was exactly at the lower end of the estimate range of GBP 15,000.00 – 20,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by A. Ramachandran - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Untitled (Crucifixion); Untitled (after Crucifixion of Mathias Grünewald), which sold at auction in March 2012 for USD 86,500.00 (€ 64,871.76).
Zuschlag beim unteren Schätzpreis
Im Juni 2013 führte Sothebys in London die Auktion Modern and Contemporary South Asian Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Face From Rajasthan - 17 von A. Ramachandran zur Versteigerung kam. Das dabei erzielte Ergebnis von GBP 15.000,00 (€ 17.507,69) entsprach exakt dem unteren Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 15.000,00 – 20.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von A. Ramachandran mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Untitled (Crucifixion); Untitled (after Crucifixion of Mathias Grünewald) beobachtet, die im März 2012 für USD 86.500,00 (€ 64.871,76) versteigert wurde.
