Mindfulness and deceleration as the subject of art: Marina Abramović (*1946) has been pursuing this mission for decades, long before it became mainstream in society. The exploration of physical limits and the loss of control defined Abramović's early work, while in later works she focused on new self-experiences and mental healing. The comprehensive retrospective at Kunsthaus Zurich looks back on 55 years of work by the artist, who is considered one of the most important of our time. For the exhibition in Zurich, she developed Decompression Chamber, a new work that directly involves the audience. Marina Abramović. Retrospective runs from October 25, 2024 to February 16, 2025.

Four performances will be staged again in the exhibition. The performers were cast and specially trained by the Marina Abramović Institute. The one-hour performance Imponderabilia (1977) will be shown daily at 10:15 am, 12:15 pm, 2:30 pm and 4:30 pm, the half-hour performance Luminosity (1997) at 11:45 am and 2:00 pm. The audience can take part in Counting the Rice (2014) daily from 11:00 am to 5:30 pm and Decompression Chamber (2024) from 10:30 am to 5:30 pm. All performances are always performed on Thursdays at additional times or for longer.

Marina Abramović's first retrospective in Switzerland was created in close collaboration with the artist. It is a collaboration with the Royal Academy in London, the Stedelijk Museum in Amsterdam and the Kunstforum Wien.Art.Salon

London, Tate Britain

It was one of the most moving decades in the history of the United Kingdom: the 1980s, characterized by strikes, protests and AIDS. Photographers documented this period and in some cases became political activists themselves through their images. The exhibition The 80s: Photographing Britain opens on November 21 at the Tate Britain in London.
