Gabriele Weide and Chris Wehrmann at »Art Artist«
The innovative art fair Art Artist, which has been taking place since 2023, is held in parallel to Art Düsseldorf. This year, Gabriele Weide and Chris Wehrmann from the Art.Salon artist program will also be presenting some works there. Art Artist runs from April 11 to 13 also in Düsseldorf and is open from 2 pm to 10 pm.

The innovative art fair Art Artist is opening for the third time in a former industrial tech center in Düsseldorf. International artists will exhibit here on a future-oriented platform that promotes interdisciplinary exchange. After the successful editions in 2023 and 2024, the organizers are looking forward to welcoming numerous visitors again this year. Art Artist takes place from April 11 to 13, at Hansaallee 190 near Art Düsseldorf, and is open daily from 2 to 10 pm.
Two artists from the Art.Salon artist program will also be taking part in Art Artist 2025: Gabriele Weide and Chris Wehrmann. Gabriele Weide, who studied graphic design under Professor Otto Näscher at the Folkwang School, now the Folkwang University of the Arts in Duisburg/Essen, is active in the fields of painting, mixed media, drawing and photography, among others. Her artistic work is dedicated to the current state of the world and significant environmental changes. Water as the basis of life and urban vegetation are central themes in her artworks. Nature, with its unique features such as barren rocky or desert landscapes, has inspired the artist to create works in which she uses materials such as metal, sand and various found objects, depending on the motif. With the works she is showing at Art Artist, Weide, who mixes the oil paints for her paintings herself, depicts the desert in its complexity as a fascinating but threatening habitat for humans, which is currently spreading across the globe.
Under the title The Depth of the Moment, Chris Wehrmann presents two different series of works that overlap thematically: In them, Wehrmann examines inner and outer perceptions of time and experience. At the same time, with the two series he presents the genres on which he has focused his artistic work: Painting and collage. In Be Not Afeard, based on a quote from Shakespeare's The Tempest, the artist deals with borderline experiences and the flood of emotions they can generate. For these works, Wehrmann collaged backgrounds from various Korean and French papers, on which he then worked in acrylic and mixed media. His painting series My Seasons uses visual elements of collage. Inspired by various influences such as poetry, music and personal experiences, Wehrmann searches for the individual character of each season through his choice of colors and motifs. My Seasons will be shown publicly for the first time at Art Artist.
