Most of the exhibits have been borrowed directly from the artist Roni Horn and offer a special approach to her often enigmatic works: The works are juxtaposed with excerpts from famous films. The American artist Roni Horn often uses elements of film language in her own creative process. Curator Jerry Gorovoy offers suitable film material to show visitors how to decode and interpret Horn's works. Among others, scenes from Persona (1966) by Ingmar Bergman, Vertigo (1958) by Alfred Hitchcock and The Passion of Joan of Arc (1928) by Carl Theodor Dreyer can be seen. Horn's complex oeuvre includes drawings, sculptures, photographs and installations, whereby she exerts particular influence on the precise positioning of the exhibits in exhibition spaces. This is important for the experience that a work offers the viewer. The exhibition Roni Horn – The Detour of Identity can be seen at the Louisiana Museum of Art in the Danish village of Humlebæk from May 2. Visitors have until September 1 to delve deep into the secrets of the influential artist's work.

The exhibition is the artist's first major solo show in Northern Europe. Roni Horn was born in New York in 1955 and studied at the renowned Rhode Island School of Design, among others. A travel grant enabled her to spend several months in Iceland at the end of the 1970s, which Horn explored by motorcycle. The impressions of this trip continue to influence her artistic work to this day, including her long-term project Vatnasafn. Horn is one of the leading contemporary artists and took part in DOCUMENTA IX in 1992, for example.Art.Salon

London, Tate Britain

It was one of the most moving decades in the history of the United Kingdom: the 1980s, characterized by strikes, protests and AIDS. Photographers documented this period and in some cases became political activists themselves through their images. The exhibition The 80s: Photographing Britain opens on November 21 at the Tate Britain in London.
