The exhibitionLet the Song Hold Us at FACT in Liverpool features a collection of recent immersive artworks designed to be understood across generations and geographical boundaries. The artists are experimenting with storytelling. The aim was to find out how we can form our own identity from lost memories. The festival starts on 24 March.
Whether collective choruses or intimate melodies, they help us develop a sense of belonging or redefine it: Let the Song Hold Us focuses on song and music as a means of expressing our ideas of family, hope and belonging. The works reimagine the way we create and share things, the way we inherit and pass on. They embody both the everyday situations of life and the moments when we long for a deeper understanding. On view are works by internationally renowned artist Korakrit Arunanondchai (USA/Thailand) and newly commissioned works by Zinzi Minott, Tessa Norton, Larissa Sansour with Søren Lind, Ebun Sodipo and Rae-Yen Song. Let the Song Hold Us closes on 19 June.
The FACT in Liverpool is a centre for cultural encounter. It supports and shows art or films based on new technologies and exploring digital culture. The building houses galleries, a cinema, a café and a bar.
