Artwork auctioned at three times the upper estimate price
When the work Two Tigers Standing under the Pine Tree by Zhu Wenhou was auctioned at China Guardian in Hong Kong in October 2012, the result exceeded expectations many times over. The upper estimate was set at a - in retrospect quite modest - HKD 20,000.00 but the actual price achieved was more than three times as high at HKD 74,750.00 (€ 7,441.54). Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Zhu Wenhou; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot Tiger, Elephant, et al. sold at auction in October 2012 with the realized price of HKD 138,000.00 (€ 13,738.23).
Kunstwerk zum Dreifachen des oberen Schätzpreises versteigert
Als die Arbeit Two Tigers Standing under the Pine Tree von Zhu Wenhou im Oktober 2012 bei China Guardian in Hong Kong versteigert wurde, übertraf das Ergebnis die Erwartungen um ein Vielfaches. Der obere Schätzpreis war mit – rückwirkend betrachtet recht bescheidenen – HKD 20.000,00 angesetzt, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis hingegen war mit HKD 74.750,00 (€ 7.441,54) mehr als dreimal so hoch. Trotz des guten Ergebnisses ist dies nicht der höchste Zuschlag für ein Kunstwerk von Zhu Wenhou; den erzielte unter den von uns beobachteten Auktionen die Arbeit Tiger, Elephant, et al. im Oktober 2012 mit dem Hammerpreis von HKD 138.000,00 (€ 13.738,23).
