In March last year Bonhams in New York held the auction The Reverend Richard Fabian Collection of Chinese Paintings and Calligraphy, Part V The Online Sale, which included the work Swallows, Rocks and Peaches, 1882 by Zhu Cheng. The »bidding war« ended at USD 3,825.00 (€ 3,448.12), 28% above the upper estimate. Admittedly, works by Zhu Cheng have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Landscape Album in November 2016 with an auction result of HKD 225,000.00 (€ 27,417.75).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 28 % übertroffen
Im März letzten Jahres führte Bonhams in New York die Auktion The Reverend Richard Fabian Collection of Chinese Paintings and Calligraphy, Part V The Online Sale durch, in der auch die Arbeit Swallows, Rocks and Peaches, 1882 von Zhu Cheng zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von USD 3.825,00 (€ 3.448,12) und damit 28% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Zhu Cheng auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Landscape Album im November 2016 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 225.000,00 (€ 27.417,75).
