Auction result well in line with expectations
In November 2006 Christies in Hong Kong held the auction Fine Modern and Contemporary Chinese Paintings, which included the work Wisteria and Birds by Zhou Zhongyao. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of HKD 40,000.00 – 50,000.00, the actual price achieved of HKD 42,000.00 (€ 4,073.00) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Admittedly, works by Zhou Zhongyao have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Tulips in Bloom in November 2011 with an auction result of HKD 325,000.00 (€ 31,091.58).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im November 2006 führte Christies in Hong Kong die Auktion Fine Modern and Contemporary Chinese Paintings durch, in der auch die Arbeit Wisteria and Birds von Zhou Zhongyao zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von HKD 40.000,00 – 50.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von HKD 42.000,00 (€ 4.073,00) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Zhou Zhongyao auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Tulips in Bloom im November 2011 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 325.000,00 (€ 31.091,58).
