Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Fragrance of Flowers by Zhou Zhongyao was sold in the Fine Chinese Modern Paintings auction at Christies in Hong Kong in May 2008. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of HKD 120,000.00 – 150,000.00, the actual price achieved of HKD 125,000.00 (€ 10,290.81) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Zhou Zhongyao - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Tulips in Bloom, which sold at auction in November 2011 for HKD 325,000.00 (€ 31,091.58).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Fragrance of Flowers von Zhou Zhongyao wurde im Mai 2008 in der Auktion Fine Chinese Modern Paintings bei Christies in Hong Kong versteigert. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von HKD 120.000,00 – 150.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von HKD 125.000,00 (€ 10.290,81) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Für andere Arbeiten von Zhou Zhongyao mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Tulips in Bloom beobachtet, die im November 2011 für HKD 325.000,00 (€ 31.091,58) versteigert wurde.
