It achieved a price of HKD 2,301,000.00 (€ 259,096.01), exceeding the upper end of the estimate range by 53%. Admittedly, works by Zheng Xie have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Bamboo And Rock in September 2014 with an auction result of USD 2,629,000.00 (€ 2,081,881.53).

Die Arbeit Orchid And Calligraphy von Zheng Xie wurde im Oktober 2018 in der Auktion Classical Chinese Paintings and Calligraphy bei China Guardian in Hong Kong versteigert. Sie erzielte dabei einen Preis von HKD 2.301.000,00 (€ 259.096,01) und übertraf damit das obere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne um 53%. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Zheng Xie auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Bamboo And Rock im September 2014 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 2.629.000,00 (€ 2.081.881,53).
