Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Bamboo and Rock by Zheng Xie was auctioned at Christies in Hong Kong in December last year, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of HKD 240,000.00 – 400,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for HKD 220,000.00 (€ 26,363.81). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Zheng Xie achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Bamboo And Rock in September 2014 with an auction result of USD 2,629,000.00 (€ 2,081,881.53).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Bamboo and Rock von Zheng Xie im Dezember letzten Jahres bei Christies in Hong Kong versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von HKD 240.000,00 – 400.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für HKD 220.000,00 (€ 26.363,81) den Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Zheng Xie erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Bamboo And Rock im September 2014 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 2.629.000,00 (€ 2.081.881,53).
