A top price for Zhang Zipiao
This artwork by Zhang Zipiao achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in New York in September this year. In the 10th Shanghai Auction Anniversary: 20th/21st Century Art Evening Sale auction, the work Mushroom Cloud 02 sold for CNY 1,260,000.00 (€ 163,095.24) - well above the upper estimate of CNY 500,000.00. This high result makes Mushroom Cloud 02 the most expensive artwork by Zhang Zipiao that we have observed at auctions so far.
