Artwork auctioned at three times the upper estimate price
The work Window Shopping by Zhang Zipiao was worth HKD 693,000.00 (€ 77,086.65) to a buyer in October 2021. This price was achieved in the auction Contemporary Art Day Sale at Sothebys in Hong Kong and exceeded the previously set upper estimate of HKD 200,000.00 many times over. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Zhang Zipiao - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Mushroom Cloud 02, which sold at auction in September this year for CNY 1,260,000.00 (€ 163,095.24).
Kunstwerk zum Dreifachen des oberen Schätzpreises versteigert
Die Arbeit Window Shopping von Zhang Zipiao war einem Käufer im Oktober 2021 HKD 693.000,00 (€ 77.086,65) wert. Dieser Preise wurde in der Auktion Contemporary Art Day Sale bei Sothebys in Hong Kong erzielt und übertraf den zuvor angesetzten oberen Schätzpreis von HKD 200.000,00 um ein Vielfaches. Für andere Arbeiten von Zhang Zipiao mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Mushroom Cloud 02 beobachtet, die im September diesen Jahres für CNY 1.260.000,00 (€ 163.095,24) versteigert wurde.
