This artwork by Zhang Pengchong achieved an unexpectedly high price at Sothebys in New York in March 2016. In the Fine Classical Chinese Paintings & Calligraphy auction, the work Landscape sold for USD 15,000.00 (€ 13,169.45) - well above the upper estimate of USD 8,000.00. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Zhang Pengchong; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot Landscape And Calligraphy sold at auction in March 2016 with the realized price of USD 17,500.00 (€ 15,364.35).
