In December last year Christies in Hong Kong held the auction Fine Chinese Classical Paintings and Calligraphy, which included the work Spring Landscape by Zhang Hong. The »bidding war« ended at HKD 226,800.00 (€ 27,178.69), 51% above the upper estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Zhang Hong - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Studio by a Secluded Stream, which sold at auction in April last year for HKD 604,800.00 (€ 73,124.72).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 51 % übertroffen
Im Dezember letzten Jahres führte Christies in Hong Kong die Auktion Fine Chinese Classical Paintings and Calligraphy durch, in der auch die Arbeit Spring Landscape von Zhang Hong zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von HKD 226.800,00 (€ 27.178,69) und damit 51% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Für andere Arbeiten von Zhang Hong mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Studio by a Secluded Stream beobachtet, die im April letzten Jahres für HKD 604.800,00 (€ 73.124,72) versteigert wurde.
