Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Zhang Hong could be acquired at Sothebys in New York in September 2016 for an unexpectedly low price. In the The Roy and Marilyn Papp Collection of Chinese Paintings auction, the work Meditation Beneath Autumn Trees changed hands for USD 31,250.00 (€ 27,807.44) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of USD 35,000.00 – 55,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Zhang Hong - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Studio by a Secluded Stream, which sold at auction in April last year for HKD 604,800.00 (€ 73,124.72).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Dieses Kunstwerk von Zhang Hong konnte im September 2016 bei Sothebys in New York für einen unerwartet niedrigen Preis ersteigert werden. In der Auktion The Roy and Marilyn Papp Collection of Chinese Paintings wechselte die Arbeit Meditation Beneath Autumn Trees für USD 31.250,00 (€ 27.807,44) den Besitzer – und verfehlte damit das untere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 35.000,00 – 55.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Zhang Hong mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Studio by a Secluded Stream beobachtet, die im April letzten Jahres für HKD 604.800,00 (€ 73.124,72) versteigert wurde.
